Mental Health Awareness Week wrap
As a brand-new charity, this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week was a truly important moment for us — a first chance to show what Well Windsor is all about.
The national theme was "The Power of Community" — and it was wonderful to see activities all around the town.
Over the course of the week, we saw schools, businesses, local organisations and young people all come together to shine a light on mental health. What emerged was a quiet but powerful reminder that we are stronger, healthier, and more hopeful when we support each other — face to face, in real life.
We’re so grateful to everyone who took part. Here’s a look at what was going on in Windsor last week:
🌿 Mental Health Awareness Week Highlights
🎉 Fundraising Ball – A wonderful celebration at the Castle Hotel bringing together friends and supporters of our mission, raising vital funds for future Well Windsor programmes.
👥 Wellbeing Leads Meeting – School wellbeing leaders met at our regular twice-a-term Hub session to work on common programmes and approaches and share best practice
🫶 Evening Social Events – Every night of the week the fantastic Windsor Social Out and About group put on opportunities to meet, craft, quiz and chat together and raise funds as they spread the joy.
🗣️ Youth Voice Programme – Eight young people came together, offering insights into their experiences and ideas for shaping the future of Well Windsor’s work. They’ll be a key part of what we prioritise going forwards.
🧠 myHappymind in First and Middle Schools – the second report from our funded curriculum programme was released showing continued positive results across the ten schools currently using it. Driving a real change in school wellbeing culture.
☕ Cinnamon Café Promotion – In support of Mental Health Awareness Week, Cinnamon Café offered free coffees to customers who put their phones away while enjoying time together — a brilliant reminder of the value of face-to-face connection.
This week felt like a really strong launchpad for our young charity — not because of any single event, not because we were on the radio and BBC online, but because of the feeling that started to build: that Windsor is aware of the challenge and ready to support our kids in a number of different ways.
For us, it was encouraging, energising, and deeply hopeful.
